Dean Grech began his musical journey as a young teenager in Northern California, studying under renowned classical guitarist Rey de la Torre. By the age of 19, he continued his education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, laying the foundation for a diverse and accomplished career.

Over the following decades, Dean toured extensively both locally and internationally, performing with a wide range of original and cover bands.

As a Sideman
Dean has toured with notable acts including MCA recording artist
 Klique and RCA recording artists A Flock of Seagulls. He also served as Musical Director for Radio Disney’s world tour, while maintaining an active performance schedule at Disney theme parks, television productions, clubs, and Las Vegas show bands.

As a Performer and Solo Artist
Throughout his career, Dean has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, John Mayer, Michael Franks, Al Jarreau, The Beach Boys, Dave Koz, and David Sanborn. His versatility has also led to performances alongside top comedians and entertainers including Jay Leno, Dave Chappelle, Howie Mandel, and Jimmy Kimmel.

Composer and Recording Artist
Dean’s work spans film, television, and radio. His guitar playing is featured in the 2025 release
 Looking Through Water, starring Michael Douglas. His song “Two Strong Arms” (co-written with Reggie Ashley) appears in Dustin Lance Black’s 2011 film Virginia, starring Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Roberts, and Carrie Preston. His performances can also be heard in various Hallmark productions including Can I Have This Dance, Pumpkin Everything, and Love in the Limelight.

Dean’s albums have produced four Billboard-charting “#1 Most Added” tracks: “Funky Talk,” “We Got Lost,” “Shake It Around,” and “Playa Rosa.”

In December 2010, his holiday song “What Do You Want This Year for Christmas” was featured on the Universal compilation Free Soul Christmas alongside artists such as John Lennon, The Jackson Five, Burt Bacharach, Vince Guaraldi, Stevie Wonder, and Mary J. Blige. The track reached #1 Most Added on Smooth Jazz Radio (SmoothJazz.com), surpassing releases by Quincy Jones, Spencer Day, and Dave Koz.
